We are located at 1/70 Railside Avenue, Bargo NSW
There is plenty of free on-site parking as well as street parking.
We are a 4 minute (350m) walk from Bargo train and bus stations.

Fees

We are a mixed billing medical practice. Please bring your Medicare card and concession card with you to your appointment. If you are a private patient, please ask our staff for details about fees.
Fee Update
From 1st of January 2025 appointments with Dr Marlon Kotikawatte and Dr Madara Jayasekara will incur a gap payment for patients 16 years and over who do not hold a Commonwealth Concession card.

There are some appointments such as procedures that will incur different out of pocket expenses that will be quoted to you at the time of booking.

Health assessments and chronic disease care plans are exempt from the out of pocket fee.

We will continue to have doctors at the practice that will be bulk billing for all patients (no out of pocket cost).

Appointments

  • We are an appointment only based practice.

  • We have long and extended appointments based on your needs.

  • We are dedicated to be on time with our schedules. Occasional emergencies/incidents may come up and we thank you for your cooperation in such circumstances. Our reception staff will keep you informed if there is any delay.

After hours care

  • If you need to contact a doctor when the surgery is closed, please proceed to your closest hospital. The two closest emergency departments to our practice are:

Contacting your doctor

  • Referrals and repeat prescriptions: So that we comply with legal and ethical requirements all requests for referrals must be done in a consultation with your doctor. We also prefer that consultations are made to request repeat prescriptions. Only at the discretion of your doctor can a repeat prescription be issued without a consultation.

  • Test results cannot be given over the phone due to privacy and confidentiality principles. Please call 4682 2168 for an appointment.

  • Email: Individual medical advice cannot be provided by email due to privacy principles.

Recalls and Reminders

We do believe that prevention is better than cure! Health monitoring is an important part of your healthcare. We have reminders and recalls for follow up visits and routine health checks.

Bargo Doctors uses various computerised reminder and recall systems. You will be notified of any reminders and recalls that are relevant to you during consultations. We may at times write to you for reminders regarding your health. You have the option of opting out of these reminders; just let our staff know.

Results

If your doctor orders investigative tests for you, please book in an appointment to discuss the results with your doctor.

This appointment will be bulk billed.

Home visits

We do home visits for our selective regular patients who live within a 2km radius of the practice. We prefer to do home visits for patients who cannot attend the practice due to a medical condition or disability.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Your medical record is confidential. It is our policy to maintain the security of your personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

This is one of the reasons why we don’t discuss your health matters like test results at the front counter. Our reception staff are not authorised to provide test results.

Feel free to talk to our doctors, nurses or our reception staff regarding any concerns, suggestions or complaints. Your feedback is very important to us and we will take it seriously.
